In an environment engineered for constant stimulation and unavoidable crowds, true isolation feels like a radical act. This project explores the paradox of the "skyscraper of the sea"—a cruise ship teeming with over 3,000 souls—and seeks to find the quiet, singular moments hidden within its metallic sprawl.
The Challenge: Documenting "emptiness" in a space designed for maximum occupancy.
By stripping away the visual noise of the masses, these images refocus the lens on the individual. The goal was to transform a space defined by density into a landscape of solitude, capturing the brief instances where a passenger becomes a lone figure against an overwhelming scale. In the middle of the ocean, surrounded by thousands, these photographs ask: Is it possible to truly be alone when you are never out of sight?
